Andrew's Story

Changed a lot since high school. Joined the Air Force in 1978 and retired in 2005 while at Langley AFB, VA. I'm the current Airspace Manager and Deputy Director for AirPower Over Hampton Roads Air Show. So if you're ever in the area, look me up and I'll do my best to give you a great tour of Langley AFB. I married in 1989, but unfortunately divorced in 1998. Didn't have any kids. After the death of my sister Robin, I took on her 2 children, Christopher and Chelsea in 2002. Christopher will graduate high school next year and Chelsea the following year. They both attend Kecoughtan High School in Hampton, VA. We have 4 dogs and a cat. I volunteer with the IMPS (Internet Miniature Pinscher Service). We rescue min-pins from around the U.S. and find them permanent homes (min-pins are my favorite breed of dog). I live in Hampton, VA but will probably re-locate to Yorktown once Chris and Chelsea finish school. I'll still be close enough to work but will be away from the craziness of the big city. That is if I'm up to packing up and making the move. After traveling the world for 26+ years, I hate moving around. I've lived in Florida, Germany, England, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Nevada, California, Oklahoma, and now in Virginia since I left PA. I've travel all over Europe, the Middle East, Far East, Aftrica, Central America and to just about every state in the US. After my trip to Graceland I figured I've done it all and can now ease up on the travels. I've only been to Hawaii about 30 times and think I still need a few more trips back so I can get to the island of Kauai (only island I haven't been too). Traveled extensively through Africa in the 1990s conducting US Embassy emergency evacuation planning. I can actually say I've been to Timbaktu, Mali in Africa and ba...Expand for more
ck. Spent 15 months in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War and ducked a few scud missiles but escaped unscathed. While assigned to Nellis AFB, NV, I attended UNLV and (grab onto your chest), I majored in computer science and maintained a 4.0 GPA from 1985 - 1989. It's never too late to get your education - I just needed more time than the average bear to do some growing-up. One of my best memories was my mother's and father's face when I made the Dean's list. They flew out to Vegas and we all drove back across the US from southern CA (dad's brother's house) back to Ambridge. My biggest hobby I guess is working with the IMPS and finding homes for min-pins that have either been rescued or given up by their owners. I also rescue other dogs - just ask anyone in my family. They've taken in quite a few of my rescues. The Air Show at Langley is huge and takes up a lot of my time. I love going to Vegas each year to sign up acts and seek military acts from all services and filling up our ramp with static displays that number up to and past 100 aircraft. This is one of the biggest military Air Shows on the east coast. Otherwise my normal M-F gig is managing the airspace our F-22 Raptors train in off the east coast and other parts of Virginia. My brother Gary and his wife Debby are frequent guests and have been to every place around the world that I've lived at. We have great times together and love traveling around the world together. Next stop is back to Oktoberfest in Germany. Gary does a mean "Chicken Dance" and next time you see Debby, ask her about the song "Alice". If you're reading this, then you probably know me - so drop me a line or two. I don't check this often so don't be surprised if it takes me a month or two to get back with you. Cheers and God bless.
