Andrew's Story
After graduation, went to UT where, after some false starts, I ended up with a math degree and a teaching certificate. Taught math for one year in Conroe, then back to San Antonio teaching Latin for three years.
Hated it.
Went to UTSA for grad school, and ended up taking a third year in Victoria, BC.
Loved Victoria. Hated grad school.
Desperate to get back to Texas, I took a job with Steve Jackson Games in Austin, where I worked for four and a half years and ended up as the managing editor. U...Expand for more
nfortunately, there's no money in tabletop games, so I bailed out and went to work as an editor and project manager for an educational development house. That lasted almost three years, until the company folded after being bought out.
Currently, I'm freelance editing for various clients, and am thinking about getting back into the real workforce. I'm still in Austin, although it's getting so expensive to live here that I'm considering moving into the country.
My God, has it really been 20 years?
