TV shows Andrew likes include Madmen. One of Andrew's favorite quotes is:"It is with the heart that one sees rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye. A belligerent samurai once challenged a Zen master to explain the concept of heaven and hell. But the monk replied with scorn, "You're nothing but a lout- I can't waste my time with the likes of you!" His very honor attacked, the samurai flew into a rage and, pulling his sword from its scabbard, yelled, "I could kill you for your impertinence." "That," the monk calmly replied, "Is hell." Startled at seeing the truth in what the master pointed out about the fury that had him in its grip, the samurai calmed down, sheathed his sword, and bowed, thanking the monk for the insight. "And that," said the monk, "Is heaven.". Japanese tale One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”. -- Author unknown I've learned that people will forget what you say and what you did, but they will never forget the way you made them feel! The smile on my face doesn't mean life is perfect. It means I appreciate what I have and what God has blessed me with. :) Laughter may be the shortest distance between two minds. Without trust, there can be no real relationships. It's amazing what can be accomplished with love. Do things in life that make you feel good about yourself and proud of who you are! Search your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life! Judge them by their integrity and character, not their drinking. You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. For our true enemies are but ourselves. he same mind set that has caused them; our mind set has to undergo great transformation. The instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves. Unhappy with your riches cus you're piss poor morally. The first duty of love is to listen. -Always be in strong, happy and healthy relationships. -Demand honesty and truth from friends. -Enjoy passionate, fun relationships. -Be at peace with affairs of the heart. Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realize we cannot eat money. Finding the path to enlightenment and choosing which path to take in life is very difficult. The true path is very narrow... like the edge of a razor... difficult to stay on and very easy to fall from. The Razor's Edge (Best movie with Bill Murray) “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12 NKJV) The tighter you squeeze, the less you have. To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. Leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness. You may believe you are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think. The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice. What you do comes from what you think. If you relax, it comes. If you relax, it is there, if you relax, you start vibrating with it. No one can hurt you without your consent. Understand the process. Into the hands of every individual is given a marvelous power for good or evil- the silent, unconscious, unseen influence of their life. This is simply the constant radiation of what a person really is, not what they pretend to be. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. You can never make the same mistake twice because the second time you make it, it isn't a mistake, it's a choice. The actions of people are the best interpreters of their thoughts. The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us, And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV)".
