I was born and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida. I went to St. Paul's Catholic School and Seabreeze High School. After a stint in the USAF from '61 to '65 I earned a BSc in Broadcasting '70 and later an MEd in Educational Media and Instructional Design '76 both from the University of Florida. I also earned my USCG Ocean Master's 100 tons license in '85, later upgraded to 300 tons. At last count I had about 8,000 days offshore cruising, fishing and running a 100' utility boat out to the oil platforms off Louisiana.. I have a daughter and a teenage grandson, both following in my footsteps loving fishing. I'm proud of them! I'm now retired and spending most of my time in Daytona Beach aboard what is probably my last big boat. All total I lived aboard different boats for over 25 years and will continue to be aboard if my health allows. Now I have a 48' Ocean Yachts sportfisherman for offshore fishing and a 23' fishing boat that I use to primarily fish around Ponce Inlet..
