Andy's Story

Life After high school, I spent a couple of years in college, then I decided to "follow my heart", as they say. I moved to Los Angeles with the band I was in, to pursue a career as a musician. Of course, the band broke up in about a week and a half, but I stayed in LA despite that. I had a lot of fun, was in a wide variety of bands, worked a wider variety of day jobs, had lots of interesting experiences (as you might imagine!), and was signed to a couple of record deals, but eventually I decided to return to San Diego (this was in 2000). Fortunately, my long-time girlfriend, Dagmar, wanted to come with me! Dag and I were married in 2001, on the island of Kauai, and we're pret...Expand for more
ty damn happy. We live in the College area, with our Holland Lop bunny named Paci. Since returning to San Diego, I've been working for Taylor Guitars - a truly wonderful and inspiring company. Check us out: taylorguitars.com. I still write and play music - you can hear sound clips from my recent CD, "Exotic America", at andyrobinsonmusic.com, and my CDs are for sale there, and at cdbaby.com/andyrobinson. Coming home to San Diego was a trip - everywhere I went, I felt nostalgic, but it was also very fresh, since so much had changed. This summer I really got into body boarding, and I can't believe I was away from San Diego beaches for so long! It's great to be home.
