Andy Hutchinson:  

Andy is from Orlando, Florida. He has been married for 39 years to an Orlando girl, four years his junior named Eileen Frost Hutchinson who went to Winter Park HS. His schools include Edgewater High School. He served eight years in the Army as a helicopter pilot serving 2 1/2 years in Vietnam where he flew gunships and was an advisor to the South Vietnamese Air Force,Helicopter Gunship Operations. He departed Vietnam with in excess of 2,000 combat flying hours and flew in excess of 1,500 combat missions over South Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. He was highly decorated including 67 Air Medals, Bronze Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) plus several South Vietnamese awards including the South Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry Award for heroism. Andy left the Army at the end of the Vietnam War with the rank of Captain. After leaving the military he returned as a civilian helicopter instructor teaching Vietnamese how to fly the Huey helicopter for a short time. Andy returned to his home in Orlando and became an Orlando Police Officer. He worked the worst part of the city and then would take a break and fly the OPD helicopter at night.
