Andrew's Story
Life
My Marriage:
Lisa Patlan (Class of 90) and I were married Nov'03 and we honeymooned in San Francisco (very beautiful city). We thought about moving to the west coast, Northern California, but decided not to.
My Pets:
We have dogs:
The oldest, Cowboy, had been having seizures that last two years of his life. Nov '04, he had a seizure that he never recovered from and we had to put him to sleep. Lisa and I adopted him from the Humane Society when he was 3 months old and had him only for a short four years. We miss him dearly. Three months after we adopted Cowboy, I found this stray little dog on Castroville road in front of the old Gabriel's Studio. I kept her and named her Dallas. She had to undergo surgery and now has a limp WHEN she walks. I am stressing "when" because she hardly stops running. She is three months younger than Cowboy and she turns out to be a wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier, one of the most active dogs EVER! The third and last dog, Gemini, is another stray that I found. I actually almost ran over him as I was turning onto my block. He weighed 1.8 lbs and fit in the palm of my hand. Now, he weighs over 16 lbs and is bigger than Dallas. Update short story version: picked up strays, my son wanted 1, others went to the pound. My son, Steve, named her Chasey because she's always chasing him. Left for work, came back 5 weeks later, and she's already bigger than Dallas and Gemini.
Our Kids:
Lisa and I have a son named Steve. He was born on 18Nov'03. He is a quick learner and boy is he beautiful. We are also expecting our second child sometime in July'05. IT'S A GIRL; Lauren Elizabeth Macias arrived on July ...Expand for more
26, weighing 4lbs 13oz. No, she was not a preemie, Lisa and I just have tiny babies. I did the old-fashion thing and did not want to know the sex of the baby until the birth, boy was Lisa dying to know.
My Job
I used to work on a research vessel that did seismic surveys. It was nice that I had the chance to go to countries that I never thought that I would ever go to. If I would have waited a couple of more days while in Singapore, I would have gone around the world on 1 trip. In the long run, the half-a-year away from home, in 5-6 week increments, got to me. I realized how much I wanted to get married and start a family. After my offshore job, I also worked for a company called CSC. This company provides all the event staff for events at the SBC Center, Alamodome, Verizon Wireless Theater, etc. I took a few classes at UTSA, but after Steve was born, I became a Mr. Mom and stayed home to take care of him. I am now at home fulltime taking care of Steve and Lauren. Mar-Apr08, I am back offshore again with another company. The boat was headed for Trinidad & Tabago, but that got put off until after Greenland. I hear Greenland is beautiful and I can't wait. I am putting in for a position that will take me to Vigo, Spain. Just happens to be in the state of Galicia where my surname supposedly traces back to. If I go, that should be interesting. Well, that is enough for now. If you want to see some pics, go to Flickr DOT COM and do a search for "Busted Macias". That should take you to a pic of my son Steve. After that, you can click on "Lisandy86" or "photostream". Hope you enjoy the pics.
