Angel's Story
Life
Life after graduation...... I guess it's been okay. No complaints. Been very blessed so far. I have birthed 3 children. I have 2 now living (ages 12 & 21). They're both in good health and do pretty good in school. My oldest is in college now! Have only had a few serious relationships, but have never been married. Not currently involved. Not really looking.
Been thinking about going back to grad school. Not sure where or when, though. Maybe one day.......
School
I really liked HS, but sometimes I really felt like the "odd man (woman)out". The only place I felt really important was in Euna Thompson's choir. Our girls chamber choir was the first in the history of Patterson to make it to State OMEA Music Competion. That's when we got to go to Grambling State University. I loved it so much when we were there that it was the only college I applied to. We also did auditions and the Choir Director there told us that if we wanted to come, then we would have partial scholarships waiting on us! Yeah, I went :)
College
Whew! What can I say about college. For...Expand for more
the first 2 yrs that I was there, weekends started on Wednesday and ended on Monday (sad, isn't it??). I had a blast, though (wouldn't change a thing). I didn't pledge any sororities, but had wanted to pledge Delta (maybe I'll finally get around to it in Grad School). I did pledge a Music Fraternity (SAI), but am not currently active. I was also sweetheart for our brother fraternity (Phi Mu Alpha), and was also kind of an unofficial sweetheart for a couple of other fraternities -I won't mention names- might get in trouble for knowing too much about either organization :)
But then real life prevailed & I had to grow up. I had my first child right before my 3rd year. I decided then that it was time to get on the ball. I managed to graduate (about a year off schedule), but I finally did it!!! (with the help of my very own special "angel on earth"). I love her dearly and without her, I would not be where I am today. I hope that she will read this. I can never thank her enough! I hope that she would know who she is, but if she doesn't: Dr. Gunn - this is for you!
