Angela (Angie)'s Story
After leaving Beeville & moving to Three Rivers, Texas, I stayed in school one more year. I really hated it, so I got a G.E.D. & worked full-time with my Mom in a restaurant outside Three Rivers. Met my first husband, Paul Simon, in 1976 we married. Lived in Kenedy, Karnes City, then we split up after 16 yrs. and I moved to Portland, Oregon. Lived there for 1 yr. Moved to Boise, Idaho (LOVED IT!!!) & married my 2nd husband. Big mistake, he was abusive. Eight yrs. later I divorced him, & went back home to Beeville for a while. Reconnected with my family & some friends, and took some classes at Coastal Bend College. I lived on Charco Rd., really close to the college, so I rode my bike on nice days. Reconnected with my old high school sweetheart, Wes Taylor, who lived in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, so I moved there in 1999, after finishing one semester at the Beeville college. We married, I worked at a nice grocery store on Holiday Island. Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last 2 yrs. I found a wonderful place to live way out in the country, and lived there until 2008. Believe it or not I reconnected with my 1st husband's oldest brother and moved here to Ohio, and am now married to him! We've been married a year. I'm not real crazy about it here, it's brutally cold in the winter and it's been a challenge to adapt to this life. It's too close to the interstate, noisy, and I miss all my friends in Eureka Springs terribly. I don't work, as I injured my back at the grocery store in Ark. but...Expand for more
I do a lot of walking when weather permits, and work out to stay fit. Ernie & I will eventually move to a warmer climate, as he doesn't like it here, either. I've had an interesting life so far. A bit unsettled at times but interesting. The propane tank you see in my profile is something I painted while in my home in Ark. I did it to look like a Yellow Submarine. Anyway, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! I long for the Texas beach ( Port Aransas) but also miss the Ozark Mts. and quiet of the country life I lived while in Ark. those years. My (only) oldest brother still lives in Corpus Christi. He is the only close relative I have left, as my Mom & Dad both died while I lived in Ark.
I always wanted to be a n artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a fantastic idea. As it turns out, they were right!.
Update...Aug. 19, 2012. Ernie & I are living in Largo, Fla. now. Last year was a whirlwind. I was approved for disability because of my injured lower spine, we traveled to Tampa so I could have laser surgery on my spine at the Laser Spine Institute, and also find a plce to live. We did both, and successfully moved to Largo in Nov. 2011. We are loving it here. The beaches are beautiful and shopping is within walking distance. My back is better since the surgery but I still have a lot of nerve damage that I have therapy for three times a week. But life is good, and I feel fortunate when I hear of my younger friend's health issues. So that's all for now, folks!
