Angela's Story
Life
Well where to began,
I am a single mother of three (not exactly the way I planned it). I divorced my ex husband 2 yrs ago this summer. He is the father of all three children. I have found that being a single parent is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But I believe God only guess you what you can handle. He must have a lot more faith in me than I do. LOL I am waiting for MR RIGHT to come along and sweep me and my children off our feets.
School
I attended Hardwick Elementary from kindergarden through sixth grade. After that, was bussed to Mathews for the seventh grade. We all hated that, cause we were taken away from our home area and placed in a not so good part of town. I survivied the seventh grade and then went to Mackenzie JR High. That was fun. As fun as school can be. I was about to drive before most because my father was ill so I was about to get a hardship license. Way too cool. After the JR high years, on to the BIG High School days at Coronodo!!! Lots of wonderful memories. I did lose my dad during my Junior year of school, but with the help of friends and family, I made it th...Expand for more
rough. I graduated by the hair of my chinny chin chin. Party way too much to make High School smooth sailing. But I made it!!!
Workplace
After I graduated from SPC-Lubbock with an Associtated Degree, I was so burned out the my major, that I got training and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. I work in the home health setting for 5 yrs doing that. Then I went to work at Lubbock Regional Mental Health and Retardation. I as using my degree finally with this job. After about two years I decided that I wanted to become a nurse. I then went to SPC-Reece Center to get my LVN certificate. After doing that and passing my boards, I started to work at Covenant Medical Center on south 9. This is the Cardiac and Thoracic Telemetry floor. I absolutely loved it. However after a year and a half of working with back stabbing staff members, I had had enough. I recently started working at Carillon Assisted Living Center. Which is a very expensive retirement center. I work on the skilled nursing side. The residents need more care. I eventually want to return back to Cardiac nursing but right now this is a nice change of pace.
