Angela's Story
It is nearly impossible to sum 20 years of your life up in a paragraph, but I will say this..........I have definetely lived. I moved to Wyoming at 21 and actually worked on a dude ranch for a few years. Call it sowing my wild oats if you will! LOL! I liken it to that of the ultimate camping trip with hiking, rock climbing, hunting coyotes, trail riding, etc. Of course being the big sop I am, I loved and hated the calving season. Loved the little ones, hated branding/tagging/& cutting the poor babes. All in all, the whole experience grounded me and gave me a sense of peace, by putting me in touch with my surroundings. My first child, Luke, was born in the Cowboy State........so I'll always have a souvenir, ha ha!
I moved back to Mississippi, and shortly thereafter had my second child, Emily. It wasn't too long after that I got my divorce. I did eventually remarry and found my soulmate, Eddie. He is without question a perfect match for me, because we're both just a couple of goobers! He makes me laugh, and I never tire of his quick wit. It was at the urging of my husband that I joined the theatre in Meridian and started singing & performing on-stage. I found that I really did enjoy being able to...Expand for more
express myself on a such a creative level. I was even signed to an independent record label, Tootsie's, out of Nashville for a couple of years. That enabled me to meet so many of my childhood idols such as Kris Kristoppherson, Bill Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Porter Wagnor, TG Sheppard, etc. I've traveled across the United States singing and entertaining at various venues, but eventually I grew tired of being on the road.......I only wanted to be with my family. I still am called upon to do make appearances here and there, but I find solace being home with loved ones.
Now I have a very happy job.....I'm a wedding coordinator and run an events facility in Helen, GA. Sure, I deal with alot of neurosis from wanna-be-bridezillas, but for the mostpart........I love watching everything come together and making people's dreams come true. Call it the "Aaaah factor" if you will but it certainly puts a smile on my face and in my heart.
So, that's it in a nutshell.........life is good up here on the mountain and I've never been happier. I certainly hope all is well with everyone else.
God bless, and take care of yourselves! Just remember, life is too short to take it so #&*! seriously........
