Angela's Story

Life After graduation, I joined the Navy, became a medic, went on to college (Univ of South Carolina), worked in a few different areas of the medical field (paramedic), assisted with autopsies for a few years, hospital nursing on a respiratory, cardiac, and geriatric floor and sometimes in the ICU, gradually made my way from the East to the West Coast, changed careers to commercial real estate, which I've been doing for the past 13-years. Those were my careers and while working at each one, I still managed to (not necessarily in chrono order) travel, to race my 69 Chevelle Malibu and 71 Firebird on a 1/4-mile drag (sold both a long time ago), go to sea on a helicopter carrier (USS Iwo Jima), write for a fledgling underground newspaper that didn't get off the ground, get married and divorced twice, have 3 children, fly a small airplane, survive a tornado, ride a Harley, experience an earthquake (with minimal damage), see the Beatles, Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, and so many, many more concerts in venues from Philadelphia to Atlanta, rescue jackrabbits and return them to the wild, finish college w...Expand for more
ith a 3.46 GPA (I'm proud of that because I was working and raising two boys and a toddler at the same time), survived breast cancer (11-year survivor now), bury my dad in MA (my roots), bought my daughter her first horse on her 18th birthday and wondered if I was in my right mind when I did it, now she is 19 and on her 2nd horse and training for barrel racing and gymkhana events, saw my oldest son go to war and come home (I am forever thankful for that and forever sorrowed for those who didn't)now he's a Gunny Sgt in the USMC, did my own backyard landscaping (yes, including the labor-took 3 spring/summer seasons), 24 yo son is working and living on his on terms, glad to still have my mom and my brothers, 7 nephews (no nieces), my children and two granddaughters (Trinity, 3 yo and Cailyn, 2 yo). I know its a bit hodge podge, but it is just a brief bio afterall. So, there it is, I'm not rich, but I am comfortable without fear for the future, looking forward to retirement, and seeing all my children living independently and securely and being able to work when I want to and play when I don't.
