Angelica's Story
LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL ---you asked---
1974-2015 (Updated Aug. 2015)
In June after our junior year, my parents decided to take us back to Mexico and continue our education there. I enrolled in Morelia, Michoacan in a pre-law prep school, after struggling to get accepted for an entire year. In 1976, I enrolled and only lasted that year there. I was on my own in the city and I had a little too much freedom, after having none before this. So, school was not my priority at that time and I wasted my dad's money!
In 1977, I came back to Humboldt, got married and settled in the Central Valley- Arbuckle, CA to be exact. We had four children, Karina, Octavio, Josue and Iluixochitl. (Now 38, 36, 32 and 30)
In Fall of 1989, I started at Chico State and got my double teaching credential 5 years later -Spanish and Elementary-. In that same Spring of 1993, I was hired by Williams School District to teach 4th grade. I have been there ever since! I taught at the 4th-6th grade level for 14 years and was offered a job at the high school teaching Spanish in 2008. I am happy to be using my second credential!
Three of my children are college graduates and one of my sons chose the Army as a career and is with Special Operations. I have four grand children, twin boys from my oldest son and my youngest girl has a girl and a boy. I am very proud of my four children! They are my life!
Like I always say---LIFE IS GOOD!---
2009- August
My summer is over and I did quite a bit. I got to go to Vegas for 4 days. Now that was unique trip! I went by myself with no agenda. Yes, by myself!! I did have fun for the most part, but then I got lonely. With all those thousands of people and I was lonely!
I then came home and took off to Germany for 3 weeks to see my son and his beautiful family (Tavio, Katja, Kilian and Yanik). I babysat my twin grandsons and potty trained them. For a grams that is a big thing, a...Expand for more
nd for their mom too. I thought I was done with my travels when my brother Bobby came for R&R from Irak and asked me to go see him. Well, if you know me a little you know I would say, "When?" and there I went another 5 days in North Carolina with Bobby, Joel (my other brother) who drove down from Boston, and Josue, my son (who lives in Virginia). We had a fab family mini reunion!
2010 -August --It has been a wonderful in most ways! This year, I learned hard lessons and I am a better person because of this. I married my daughter to a wonderful young man! I now have another son! Yeah! Three in all!
My heart is so full of love I sometimes feel it will burst! Life continues to be beautiful and I respect the people I love. Always!
Life is beautiful! Love, learn and love some more!
Update time! March 2013
I continue to live in the Northern Valley and work at the same school. My travels continue, Winter Break in Mexico and Germany. My Dad retired in Mexico and my oldest son, Tavio, still lives in Germany with his twin boys. Spring break back to Germany and Summer too! My trips to Humboldt are very much enjoyed three four times a year. Once you have been part of the wood, you always go back to it's grove! And to add to my travels, I now have a new place to be and see my other son, Josue, and that is the Heart of Country Music! Which is where I spend Thanksgiving 2011.
Last September, I turned 55, as most 1975 grads did, and my daughters took me to Maui for 5 days! We had the best time and got to meet Mick Fleetwood at his restaurant! Yee Haw!
My family has grown, I now have a granddaughter, Olivia that is now 20 months old and keeps me very busy. :)
This 2013 promises more added travels to North Carolina, New York, Boston, Germany and ending in Humboldt for the Summer! Can't wait!
My heart continues to be full of love and am deeply loved with no doubt!
I wish you the same!
