Lieke's Story
I met my husband the summer before senior year, and we were married four years later. Alan and I have been married for 25 years. We have two daughters, Marieka and Anneke. Marieka is still trying to figure it all out; and Anneke is studying English and wants to be a teacher. We lived in Calabasas for several years and moved to San Diego almost 11 years ago. Alan and I are living in Singapore for two years. Alan is setting up a laboratory there, where he can continue to take things apart and not put them back together again. I have worked for the past few years as an Administrator in a Montessori school, and am planning to get my Montessori credential while we are in Singapore.

s. I was in Singapore for six days when Alan told me he no longer wanted to be married. So - no home to go back to, and all of my stuff was halfway between San Diego and Singapore. Looking back, I'm not surprised - it had been rough for a while, and we're much better off apart, although it took a year of therapy to get me to that point. I am living in San Diego, and my oldest daughter is living with me. She is one year clean and sober, and doing great. I am working back at the school and am in school with the ultimate goal of being a nurse. Anneke is doing amazingly well - she is also in school, and has changed her major to do something in science. I guess she buried it long enough, and it had to get out. Life is good.
