Angie's Story
Life
My son, Austin, has joined the Army. I am so very proud of him and I know that he will be challenged by his decisions but he will do great and mighty things. He is getting ready to deploy to Afganastan.
I made a change July 2005. I am a licensed Realtor and who better to sell Greer and the surrounding areas than a Greer girl. Since 1987, I had been an Optometric Technician. I enjoy working with my patients and my staff, but I was ready to make a change for a new adventure in the work force. I still help out once in a while and the good doctor keeps me in good looking glasses.
School
One of the best and craziest memories I have from good old GHS of course was with Kelly Cason Long when we made a special brew of herbal toliettte tea for a very special someone. A freshman memory would have been when Joe Brookshire and Lamar Sherman placed me on top of the lockers in front of Mr. Holliday's office, you remember, the ones that weren't attached to the wall. Of course I could jump down from them or I would have made them fall over. When Holliday came out and saw me sitting up there, his only question was "Who and Why?" Many other memories we...Expand for more
re made and we still live them when the girls get together.
College
My college days aren't as interesting as others will be. I graduated from Greenville Technical College with a AS in Health Science, majoring Optometric Technology. My mother and grandmother supported me to get through all the diffilcult times. I do recall that the french fries were pretty good and I thought it was great that I could take a drink into class with me and chew gum too.
Workplace
As a lot of you can remember I worked at McDonald's during High School. I even played on the McD's softball team. This was one of my best jobs, no hastles except missing a football ballgame here or there, but everyone would come in afterwards to tell you all about it. This job taught me a lot about life and what I wanted out of it. I think thats why today I can honestly remain somewhat calm when I have to wait on my food or my order gets messed up.
Military
I am a PROUD member of the Blue Star Mothers...
I've never been in the military but I have become a soldier's mother. My son Austin has joined the US Army and I am so very proud. God Bless the USA and our military and their families.
