Angie's Story

Not sure how long I am staying with Classmates, and do not like Facebook that EVERYONE now seems to have, so if you want to keep in touch, just email me at mrbarteamigo at yahoo dot com. Would love to hear from old friends and keep caught up! JUNE 2011: Update since last post below---WOW, still trying to start up my horse season. Did lots to get the trailer done (mostly) but between the quarentines due to the Horse Virus all over and trying to be safe, winter weather that just will not go away, and coming home so late from pasture due to rain and taking the vacation in April, just can't seem to get it started. Luckily I have a good foundation on my two horses the last 2 summers so pretty sure I will be able to get going when dry! Work has changed all about and moving offices to another location this week, to do purchasing still, got another lucky break and if work hard, should be able to keep a job through all the changes---much to learn and do. But the highlight was our 9 days in Kauai. Never dreamed of going to HI, but would go back to Kauai in a heartbeat. Oh the snorkeling and fish I got to see, and also snorkeded with the sea turtles, and dumb little things like seeing the Albatross courting another and all the sights! The ziplinng was a blast and the views awesome, especially in the helicopter. The Laua was fun, even if only I got drunk on the rum punch (I am a lightweight!). Joey and I stole away alone a day and Snuba'd (I suck at this bad, ears STILL hurt and on meds), and we both want to dive (me, at Mauai with the Manta Rays!), and took a really nice horse ride over the beaches (yes,I own horses, no, they don't do the ocean....yet!). So much fun having coffee each morning with my sisters and other family, just too much fun with them all. Only plans for rest of year is to catch up bills, work hard, and ride/train, maybe get to OR coast to ride quads at Thanksgiving, will see! NOV 2010: Howdy ya'll to the Class of 83 and the Beale Bratts and Wheatlandites who I got to spend some AWESOME years with! I had a long and detailed story posted---now just this: Married 25 years in June 2010, live in CA (west of Sac) still. 2 kids now out of HS and trying to find their way in life. Good one day, and then trials the next, so goes life, huh? And teenagers---no, young adults! After doing all we could to raise kids , time to go out and have some fun as before we know it, the grandkids will have us home and domesticated and celebrating all the holidays at home again (please not for a few years!!!). Hit hard with the housing BS but at least still have our house, car, jobs and overall good health, just more of a struggle when we thought it would finally get easier, but grateful for what we have. Hope all are faring as well! Try not to watch the news as it is seriously depressing! Politics, esp in CA are even more depressing! Just working hard daily and hoping to start back on the goals of life soon and survive all the cut-throat and layoffs. Not going to let it all get to me so that I don't live life. After 2 big losses last year, the Bucket List is being added to and worked on, and try to have a good day each day, to make it count. Joey seemed to work harder this year to stay afloat but we got to go some local places some this year. After the cruise Nov 09 (I am still in withdrawls, was packing this time last year), I don't think there is much we could do that would be more fun than that trip when the 10 of us that went. Good memories and a pic on my desk to see daily, kissing the stingray at Stingray City (it was for good luck!). Joey and I hit Tah...Expand for more
oe to jump in last March to support the PD Polar Bear Plunge again and it was cold but fun, and I was able to do a long awaited thing in Tahoe to check-off one more from my bucket list! Spent the last 6 months pretty much with my horses, training them and learning myself. Very sore and very tired a lot but oh, SO worth it. Ended my horse season taking my 3 year old Jager to State Finals and competed in Gymkhana and Horsemastership. He was so awesome, and that did not mean we won a bunch of stuff, he was just incredible to do the things he does (or doesn't-like be an idiot!). We did well there too, but mostly had fun, and there is nothing like the sound of a entire barn of 40+ horses whinnying for feed when you are the first up in the morning to feed! Sold the travel trailer and the 2 horse trailer, got a 3 horse GN to put a weekend package in for doing more Trail Trials. Camped in July for 6 days in the Sierra's in it, and for 5 days at Finals in Oct, and it was great for just staying the quick night or 2 at local places since I got it. My buddy Spur is always in tow too. Since Alyssa boards at a barn she gives lessons and rides horses at, I do most things on my own but see her at events. I am excited to work on the Living Quarters over the winter. We got the quads and have to get the registration and stuff done so we can take them out to CA off-road places. Since the new trailer is a 3 horse, we can use it to haul and camp to quad areas also. Best thing we did was get the trailer with the door to the horse area so we can set up camp in the back if need, like for rain or when the bear was going through camps for food (and did). Tried to go to the OR coast to ride the dunes in Nov break but know now we can't swing it, have to get new tires on the trailer before we use it again, BUT no worries, home for Thanksgiving with the families for the first time in about 10 years......and the trade off........maybe a week in Kauai in April? Mandy is planning for all us sisters so I will just work hard to go......still was thinking Cancun would be the next trip (if ever could!) but they just planned and told us so hey, Kauai it is, as long as there is snorkeling and animals, and hiking, and ziplines, anything fun!. Just put the horses to winter pasture and hope to catch up MUCH needed work at home and the barn, and projects like leather and wood burning which I really enjoy, and getting pictures into scrapbooks------OK, maybe. Plan to bring Jager back and board him locally by Jan 1 so he is not left too long this winter from training. Miss him so bad already but can't keep him where I do when it stays wet, so lucky I have a pasture at my sisters in Wheatland I can put them in the winter, and also get up there more then too to visit family. Been up a few times to see her kids at events, at WHS, it is weird to go back and see the school! Lots of good memories come to mind when I am there! Changes are forthcoming at work, so I will most likely get moved to a job I do not like as much, but there is no stopping a restructure and most important is to still have a job when all is re-vamped! Time will tell! Saving all my vacation for going to Gymkhana's and Trail Trials next year, and would like to get over to the Mounted Shooting, but need to get my guns first and that is just not a priority at this time, love it as I do! Mostly, just working hard, waiting to get land and have horses at our house, would make lots of things easier, but til then, just will ride! My pics show most of the last few year of fun - check them out! Bye for now, AND GO MAKE YOUR BUCKET LIST!!!
