Anita's Story
Life
Married the love of my life In August 1975 and we have two great kids, Lance and Tara.
Professionally; Retired Vice President, Information and Service Operations. I worked for Fortune 500 companies and for the last 18 years with start-up and turn-around companies. I'm sure for those who knew me in High School this comes as a surprise! I was a terrible student who spent more time cutting my "remedial" classes than attending them.
After being diagnosed as dyslectic at 23, I began to excel in my career and in my life. Now I understood why school was so difficult and that I wasn't "remedial". I went on to become the "first female" Manager, Director and/or Vice President at various companies throughout my career. But what I am most proud of is that throughout my career I have made it a practice and my passion to mentor women and help them gain self esteem.
I passed the torch (retired) in 2002 to my daughter Tara who graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in WOMEN'S STUDIES, a degree we would have never thought possible in 1966!
Tara was married in 2005 to Jeremy who we have known since they were in the 5Th grade together, aww. They presented us with our first grandchild three weeks ago (October 2008); a beautiful baby girl named Lola Natale. Natale is Tara's middle name and it was also my husband...Expand for more
's fathers name, it means Christmas in Italian.
So far I can tell you that being a Grandma is the most amazing experience of my life. Now I'm going to be one of those obnoxious people who put their grand kids photos on line. Please see photos below.
My son Lance is a gifted musician and manages a restaurant in San Francisco. Lance has a wonderful and beautiful girlfriend of five years, Emily, who we love dearly.
I've had a great life filled with good friends, a beautiful family, an interesting career, good health and I thought it couldn't get any better, I was wrong; now an amazing little grand child. Wow.
UPDATE: January 2015
I've been off of classmates for five or six years and just joined again to look around.
To update my profile since 2008; my first granddaughter is now six years old, I've had the pleasure and gift of watching her several days a week since she was born. I've never had so much fun! She's in school now so I only get her a couple of days a week, but we still have our very special time together.
My son and Emily were married in 2010 and presented us with a beautiful granddaughter September 2014. Penelope is four months old now and sadly, we are Face Time grandparents since they live in San Francisco. It's really wonderful to watch your kids become parents, amazing parents at that.
