Ann Banks:  

Life Ann Banks nee: Betty Ann Mason JCI Class of ’62 Ann was born in Toronto, Canada where she began a 20 year career working with children. Her positions included kindergarten teacher, school psychologist, and art therapist. While employed as an art therapist, Ann worked with disturbed adolescents in a residential treatment centre in downtown Toronto. Ann moved to Beverly Hills in 1980 where her focus shifted to work with developmentally disabled young people. Ann taught Living Skills at Beverly Hills High School and conducted a weekly Group Therapy session for these young people. Volunteer work has always held an important role in Ann’s life. During her 20 years living in Beverly Hills she was an acknowledged Community Activist. Her volunteer history includes an appointment as RP Commissioner to the Beverly Hills Unified School District. She was elected to the School Site Council and was appointed to, and served on, the Board of the Beverly Hills Education Foundation. Along with this, Ann served in numerous positions with the Beverly Hills PTA and PTA Council. Ann was awarded the prestigious Honorary Service Award by the State of California PTA. For many years Ann was a member of the Friends Boards of the Los Angeles Free Clinic, the fundraising arm of the Clinic. She also served on the Board of the Lawyer’s Wives of Beverly Hills, the Amie Karen Cancer Research Board, the Sisterhood Board of University Synagogue, the Board of Beverly Hills Hadassah -Tikvah Group, and the Beverly Hills AYSO Boar...Expand for more
