Ann Burgoyne:

CLASS OF 1978
Glendale, CA

Ann's Story

Hi classmates, Then: Remember me? I´m the tall leggy brunette girl with glasses . . . wore braces on my teeth for about 6 years . . . swimmer, loved water polo, math, sciences, Spanish classes . . . . (if one of our English teachers is reading this, then please excuse the poor parallelism and foreign punctuation.) Now: I´m based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This is a great little country. I´m not married and have no kids; instead I´ve had some really extra wonderful long-term boyfriends over the years. It´s a good country for that: the men tend to be tall, frank, and willing to cook. And they are often good at fixing bicycles, too. Work related: I studied first accounting and then later international business strategy. I have been working in management, interim management (helping to turn around businesses in trouble,) management consulting, etc. -- for start-up companies, for tiny companies, for mid-sized companies and for huge multinationals. I tend to get assignments in Western Europe, but I know my way around in Central & Eastern Europe and other places somewhat, as well. Typical assignments: (1) We like our business in country A. Shall we consider setting up a similar business in country B? How? (2) We are always late and over budget, and competition is getting fierce. Help us change our operation so our business survives. ess abroad, then you can contact me via my private e mail annsburgoyne at yahoo. If I can´t help you myself, I probably know who can. Hobbies: Music: Especially ancient, baroque, classical and romantic periods. Especially cello, piano, quartets and voice. I like making music and listening, and studying theory and interpretation with my friends. Amsterdam is paradise for this activity! Writing fiction Studying languages Swimming (at about half the speed I used to go), running Hiking or bicycling with friends in the countryside Watching men´s professional tennis, especially the clay court tournaments like the French Open. Clay is a slower surface, so the points are longer and more complex. It really makes them sweat. :-) Baking, small dinner parties, and other domestic arts, when I´m in Amsterdam and not abroad on business. - - - - - Contact me if you come to Europe, ( though not via this networking site please as I´m unlikely to read it here) maybe we will be in the same city on the same day. annsburgoyne at yahoo . . . . We can have fresh juice on a restaurant´s sunny terrace, or we can sip red wine in a brown bar, and catch up. Can anyone on the reunion committee please contact me, or contact Wendy Carter Long in Lake County CA or Loretta Alvarado who also know how to find me? I want to know about advertising opportunities. I will be sorry to miss the reunion. Warm regards, Ann S. Burgoyne
