Ann's Story
Since graduation much has transpired, as I am certain it has for most of you. I was married to my high school boyfriend (not a sweetheart, at all, or I still would be married to him, lol) for 22 years. I had three children who are, Paul, now 33; Rachel, who is 31 and Robert, the youngest, who is now 27. So far, they have given me eight beautiful grandchildren. I am sure there will be more to come. After moving from Edgemere, I lived in Kings Bay, Georgia for a couple of years before moving to Newport, Rhode Island, where my ex husband was the Command Master Chief of the Naval Base there. I currently reside in Virginia where I am both a contributing editor for a major greeting card publisher, as well as a non-denominational, ordained minister. For those of you who remember, I still play the guitar, both acoustic six and twelve string, as well as sing. My spare time indulgences include reading, non fiction, of course; decoupage; and wood burning. I am of Cherokee Heritage, so I also love designing and making Native American gifts such as War Shields; Dream Catchers, etc. Acrylics; charcoal and pastels are part and parcel of my art arsenal as well. What else? In the near future I plan on moving to the mountains, which I absolutely love, and building a church there and authoring some books. Thank you for taking time from your day to read this. I hope your life exceeds your expectations and that every day of your life is a day that is blessed and arrayed, most abundantly, in blessings.
I always wanted to be a flight attendant when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right.
Being a musician and an artist enables me to have many creative outlets, which help alleviate stress tremendously!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have space, independence, and diversity to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My heroes begin with my Biblical Family and continue into the one I've been blessed to have in this life. Additionally, some very good friends; some who have passed on and some who remain. My inspiration comes from God; from Nature and from within.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is My Grandmother, because she was an angel in physical form.
I neither own nor watch TV. I haven't the time to waste my fleeting days in front of a boob tube. I own no pets; they demand time that I just don't have, in all fairness, to give them. Thankfully, I have no obsessions. We...Expand for more
alth is not measured in how much one may possess, but in how much they can live without.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my yard that the deer are destroying and add on a barrier they can't cross. My dream home would be in the Western Mountains.
I have learned that no matter how much love you may give your children, or how much you may pray for them, they are still here to experience their life; their journey and lessons that we cannot change, but must accept and bless.
My current age is middle aged. When I was 12, I thought that people my age would either be in a nursing home, or long gone. I was so completely, thankfully, mistaken!
My first crush was killed in Viet Nam.
My oldest friend and my longest friend are not the same. My oldest friend, for example, will be seventy this year, but she is not my longest friend. My friend who will be seventy, I met thirty years ago when we were both working in cosmetics, at The Hecht Company, in Gold and Ring Mall. My longest friendship is with Judy Lapallo Regala, who I met in the seventh grade, at Sparrows Point Annex. We were twelve, and now that was such an unbelievably long time ago!
My first job was at Micky's Carryout, where I got paid minimum wage to make pizzas and subs. What I remember most about it is my boss was the boss from a job's most menacing nightmare.
I always wanted to be a flight attendant when I grew up. My family thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right.
Fortunately, I have been blessed with the talent to be an artist, and the creativity that is afforded, is a great way to alleviate stress.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is my grandmother, because she was an angel in a physical incarnation.
Life's biggest surprise for me has been how quickly life passes by.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my yard and add on a deer deterring barrier. They are showing my plants; my shrubs and my yard no mercy! My dream home would be in the mountains.
From my children I have learned that no matter how much you may love them or pray for them, they still have their own life to live; their own journey to take, and their own lessons to learn. And we can only accept that; love them and bless them. And when life causes them to stumble and fall along the way, which invariably it will, it doesn't benefit anyone to blame one's self or anyone else. Complete acceptance is what I have tried to learn, and hope I have managed to do so.
