Life
Hi Kids
Or at least we would like to think we still are, those were great times.
Well I was married to my first husband(Harold Schoonover)for 16 years. Harold passed away Jan of 04. We were divorced about 23 years when he passed away. He is the father of my only child, Scott Schoonover, who is now 40. Boy does that make you feel old. He gave me a granddaughter Shelby who is 13 going on 30. She is my pride and joy.
I got a divorce in 1980, came home and took care of my mom and dad and of course my son. Lost my dad 13 months later to cancer. Then took care of my mom for the next 11 year. She was a recluse with medical problems. I meet my futher husband during that time. But could not commit to marriage while taking care of my mom. Jim was there for me through all of the ups and downs in those years, so when mom died(the day Desert Storm started)we decided to get married. I married my second husband(Jim Pickett) in 1992. We went out for 10 years before we got married. He has 3 girls, Sandy 41, Peggy 35 and Terry 30. So when we got married we were an instant family of 4 kids and 3 spouses and 3 grandkids. Now we have 7 grandkids and 1 great granddaughter born May 10 05.
When I came back to Riverside after I left #1....I worked for Sears for 51/2. Then I got my present job in Jan 1986, working for the Riverside County Sheriff. I will retire from there in Feb of 07, but who is counting. At that time my husband and I plan on taking off in our RV and seeing this wonderful country we live in. We may be gone for over a year, but we want to see it all while we still have our health.
For those of you that don't know me very well, I was adopted at 3 days old. In 1993 I met my bio-mom. We had a wonderful relat...Expand for more
ionship, she was a great woman. Things just happened that she could not keep me and that was ok. I had great parents that raised me. Some of you knew them. My bio-mom passed away in Dec 01. Went to sleep on night and never woke up. That is the way we wished we could all go. We had 9 great years together and I also have a 1/2 sister, Wilma.
We have sold both of our homes in Riverside and are in transition, waiting for my retirement. Then we will decide where we want to live. Might not even be in California. My husband is retired already and just waiting for me. He had his own business, Jim Pickett Lawn Sprinkler. He and his dad had the business for over 50 years.
We love to travel and go different places. We are always on the go with our friends doing something, when I am not working of course.
When I was married to Harold we lived in Riverside then Northern California(Vacaville), then moved to Yakima, Wa. We were there when Mt St. Helens went off. That was an experience. Shortly after that I left Harold and came home. Do you think it was the Volcano hahahaha.
Hope to see many of you soon at our 40 reunion. All of you take care.
