Life
Personal philosophies: Laugh out loud frequently. Truly live and enjoy life. Live with as few regrets as possible. There are few deadends ... just many detours. How we react is our personal choice. Be open to new experiences, adventures and change. Learning is energizing. Don't just talk: Do.
My most recently added philosophy: Be fit for life.
Travel: France, England, Poland, numerous Caribbean islands; 2000-mile roundtrip motorcycle ride from Illinois to West Virginia; white water rafting in Alaska, Oregon, Wisconsin and West Virginia; and canoeing in Indiana and the Canadian Boundary Waters.
My best vacation ever was where the destination was the people, not the place. Making the effort to reconnect with those I care about was invigorating! Recently traveled to five states over 18 days to reconnect with more than 40 people I truly care about: from best friend Tara I danced with at age five, to 90-year-old uncle Hershel. ates Cathy and Julie, and mentor Ron, whom I can never repay (so I "Pay it Forward," instead). Even attended the Philly ceremony where Jack from France became a U.S. citizen.
Home: To 1994: Indianapolis; 1994-2003: Chicago; 2003-2005: Madison, Wisconsin; 2005-2006: Indianapolis (to help 85-year-old mother relearn after strokes); 2006-Present: Seattle / Tacoma area. (Relocated mother to Tacoma, to be closer to more family members. She was a true joy! (She died in September of 2008, at age 87, with me by her side. She knew she was very loved.)
Career: Public Relations (PR) Pro for iconic and underdog brands, with a strong success record in national media relations, marketing PR to drive sales, issues management, influencer programs, PR team leadership / mentoring and corporate leadership counseling. Experience: Entrepreneurial and Fortune 15 companies, etail, retail, consumer brands, B2B, not-for-profit, economic development and agency. I love what I do.
