Ann's Story

Life The years after high school included one year at Southwest Texas State University and an only slightly longer marriage to Ray alumni Jerry Citti. I did clerical work in Austin for about a year, then met a boy (it's always a boy!). We sold all our property (come to think of it, I was the only one who had any) and traveled west to and up through California and finally ended up in Boston where he promptly dumped me and moved in with his family (hmmm). Corpus Christi, graduated Del Mar, received a scholarship to and graduated from Boston University with a degree in communications, met a boy (!), and got a job with Scribner's Publishers in New York City. After a couple years at Scribner's, I moved on to Cosmopolitan magazine, where I still am today (I am the director of copy and research, which is just a fancy name for copy chief). In 1988, I married the boy I met in Boston, Tom Biegacki. We have a beautiful, spirited 13-year-old daughter, Emma (who you can actually see in the feature documentary Mad Hot Ballroom), and live in New York's historic Greenwich Village.
