Ann's Story

Life After graduating from Dentsville, I earned bachelor's and master's degrees. I worked as a children's librarian in public libraries in Virginia until 1979, when I married Vernon Terry, a submariner from the US Navy. He was getting out of the service and we picked Rock Hill, SC, as the place we wanted to live. We are still here after all these years. After working at the York County Public Library until 1986, I joined the City of Rock Hill staff - working in city management office, public information office and currently in the recycling office. I am retiring May 31 and can't wait to have some time to just play. Vernon owns his own metal fabrication business, with two plants. Those of you who own your own businesses know that that is a full-time, all-consuming job. ...Expand for more
We have no children, but pour our energies and $$ into our community, which we love. I am active in community organizations and have served as president or chair of a variety of festivals, events, clubs, and fundraising campaigns. I have also served as state president of another group and am active on the national board of the same group. On April 2, 2002, I had the joy of a reunion with Barbara Young - now Morrison - from our class. Her daughter plays 3rd base for the Furman University women's softball team, and they were Rock Hill to play Winthrop University's team. We happened to sit in front of her and she remembered me. What fun we had catching up on news. I look forward to hearing from lots of classmates. Is anyone going to the Dentsville reunion in September 2002?
