Anna's Story

Graduated from Wasson in 1969. From there..... Life---living this roller coaster of life and laughing all the way!!! No longer encumbered by the insecurities of my 20's and 30's, I'm enjoying my life more than ever! Married twice, but no children. Pets, yes. I've explored many areas of our great country on my motorcycle and bicycle. Lived in Las Vegas, all over California, Washington, Indiana, Colorado and currently live in Concord, CA. Now single, I'm enjoying life and learning to live all over again! Still have all my body parts, still have my blonde hair (though silver has invaded the gold!) and work on keeping my body in shape and athletic....even with two bionic hips. Had a cat named Whiskey who was over 25 years old, but she passed away in January, 2008. Now I have a new male named Shots Z and he is honestly the most loveable male I've ever had in my life. Doing all my own remodeling in my townhouse, but, I do know my limits and have no problems calling the professionals. It would be interesting to find out what happened to people from Wasson. If you want to communicate, you can reach me at klingon.anna(use the "at" symbol here)yahoo(use the dot symbol here)com. I belive you can figure it out and hope to hear from you. And yes, I do ride a motorcycle...a 750 Honda Shadow Spirit. I'm planning on a trip to San Diego in the next couple of months on her. All depends on finding someone to babysit my cat, Shots Z, since he doesn't do very well outside. He sort of freaks out. UPDATE: I was a foster "mom" to a mother cat and her four kittens. The mom, Silver, and one of the kittens, Thor, were adopted, but the other three kittens, Apollo, Athena and Zeus, were passed over again and again. They are such well-tempered cats. So, one day, I went to the adoption site and, since it was a day where every animal that was adopted resulted in $500 given to the Contra Costa SPCA, I adopted all three. I now have a household of four furballs and they truly keep me laughing with their antics! Since they all get along so well with each other, I have avoided the horror tales I hear from other multiple cat homes. I believe their even temperments has a lot to do wi...Expand for more
th my laid-back, easy-going attitude....that and the fact that my household is very quiet. If I play my music a wee bit too loud, they just go to the back bedroom. For pictures on the "cat shelves" I built for them, check our my face *book page. As I have cathedral ceilings of 12' at the apex, I built the shelves on two walls. Plans are in the works to expand to the next wall as soon as I figure out the logistics of the air intake section high up on the wall. That, and the wood beam that transverses the entire length of my home supporting the roof. If I go up to that section, the cats will have a place to scratch and I don't think that would be such a good idea. I'm still working on my townhome and doing all of on my own. So far, I haven't had to employ any professionals. However, when I tear into the master bathroom and move a wall, it may require re-routing plumbing. So, not only will I have to pull permits for that, I'll probably hire a plumber since I haven't done any plumbing at all. But, it all depends on how the current plumbing plays out in the wall. Since it is a non-load bearing wall and, if the plumbing can remain without any changes at all, I can avoid pulling a permit. It will all depend on what I find out when I open up the wall behind the hall closet. I think I'll do it from the closet side as repairing that wall will prove less invasive in case I find out remodeling that bathroom is beyond my comfort level. At the end of our summer, I went onto one of my flat roofs and re-did the tarring. Have to do this every year as it is a flat roof and the summer heat and sun play havoc on it. Didn't do it one year and had a mini waterfall "appear" inside and surprise me one day when it was raining very hard. Don't want another surprise like that! Still riding my motorcycle whenever I can. Since the Bay Area has such a temperate climate, I am able to ride even now, in December of 2011. While I don't ride when it is cold (I am a fair-weather rider!), I do have the gear to ride in very cold weather. Just don't have the desire to even be a wee bit frozen anymore. Usually, around noon, the temperature rises to 50-60 degrees and is fine for riding.
