Anna's Story
Life
Married to Steve (retired) for over 32 years (second marriage). Two daughters, Kristina (31), who is a Nursing Educator at Central Texas College and is married to Colton, a warrant officer in the Army; and Katy who passed away in 2010 at age 15 due to complications of pediatric stroke; 2 stepsons, Kevin (46) recently retired Air Force and is married to Jessica, a pharmacist. They have Hannah and Emily and live in Great Falls, MT. Eric (43) lives in Stafford, Virginia with his wife, Connie, and their 3 boys, Alex, Ryan and Matthew. I work in Finance at Fort Hood, Texas since 2010. We have one adorable long haired Chihuahua named Goose. We live in Belton, TX and have a small ranchette in Lampasas. Would love to hear from people.
School
I won't say who my crush was. I was a fool and I saw him a few years ago and OMG! Glad I didn't. One of my favorite teachers was Mr. Briggs (drafting) but I probably learned more in art class. After homeschooling my daughter last year I didn't realize how much I remembered from Algebra. I loved Rebelettes even though they didn't always love me. The football games were the best. I would do high school again in a heartbeat and study harder and take it more seriously and do more stuff.
College
I wish I would have studied harder and actually gotten a degree instead of letting other people run my life. I m...Expand for more
ajored in Criminal Justice because I was dating a policeman instead of majoring in drafting (what I really wanted to do). I fell 2 classes short of a degree when I married (not the policeman but a damned yankee) and moved across country where my degree would have been useless anyway. I now do finance for the Defense Finance and Accounting Services at Fort Hood. Still not my first choice for a job but after 20 years in civil service, I might as well stay there. I really think I should have been a structural engineer.
Workplace
After working for the government (IRS - Austin; Army - Ft. Devens, Massachusetts; National Guard - Camp Mabry, Austin) for 14 years (12 in payroll) I was lucky enough to be able to stay home and care for my children. Once they were both in school I worked as an AutoCAD drafter for 2 years in Wimberley, TX. I did contract drafting at home except when I was in Georgia where they just don't get it and took care of my disabled daughter. I worked numerous other small jobs not worthy of mentioning before the government. I also would like to do some sewing like upcycling clothes and old furniture.
Military
I just work for the military as a civilian. As I look back I kind of wished I had joined the Navy so I could go out on a carrier. I love the ocean. Or the Coast Guard and man a lighthouse. That would have been the ultimate
