Anna-may's Story
I lived at 48-24 45th St.My father owned Doyle's Grocery, on the corner of 45th and 48th Ave. I went to the Lyceum School of Dance. Ms. Rose, Ms. Mary. I was in Miracle on 34th Street and a couple of other movies as were many others who went there. I danced and sang at many school recitals until I got polio. Then I just sang! would not have to worry about me taking the train to High School. I always loved the old neighborhood (Woodside) and stayed in touch with classmates for a long time. I worked in the defense industry and owned a Charter fishing boat in Greenport, NY.I began my Real Estate career in Mattituck, NY. My first marriage ended in divorce. Some time later I married, Jack Smith from Bayville who was truly the love of my life. We were pals in High School and after. We were the best of friends. We lived in Colorado and moved to FL in 2003. I am still working as a Real Estate Broker in Florida and will do so, God willing, until the Good Lord calls me home. There will always be a warm place in my heart for St Teresa's and the magic I found there.
