Anne's Story
Anne grew up in Rochester, Michigan, from Kindergarten through High School. Anne's schools include St. Andrews Catholic school, Rochester High School and General Motors Institute. . In 1978, Anne graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Resource Development. She worked at the Michigan Departments of Natural Resources (DNR) and Environmental Quality (DEQ) for 13 years, followed by 4 years with the law firm of Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone, serving as their Director of Environmental Affairs. ing 20 years specializing in brownfield redevelopment and revitalization. Couture also served in an appointed position as Senior Policy Advisor to the Director of the Michigan DEQ for 4 years, working with Governor Snyder's team to effect sustainable regulatory reform in the Leaking Underground Storage Tank, Remediation, and Brownfield Programs.
Anne is married to Bob Solt, who recently retired from Kellogg Company. They have 2 sons, both college graduates and on their way in their respective careers. Bob and Anne recently purchased their retirement home in the Tip of the Mitt of northern Michigan, Indian River.
