Nechamah Anne's Story
Life
The summer after graduation,I went to Israel,to live and study. After learning with a controversial rabbi I had to leave, and finished my BA in the states,got married(wrong guy!but what did I know???), had 3 babies in 2 years, and escaped with the children. The youngest is severely brain- damaged;the older 2 are more functional but scarred from the really bad situation.
I now have masters in EdPsych and am a learning specialist,working toward doctorate. ON the side, I am an artist in the ancient form of micrography. Aside from all this, I live in Ireland most summers where I do most of my writing, some stories of which have been published and some songs that I have performed.
I know many who hate their highschool years and adolescence- not me! I would love to meet up with so many people whose company I enjoyed, or who intrigue...Expand for more
d me, back in the day of Island Trees. Many may not realize about me,nor agree with the sentiment, but I loved being in school there; it was a respite and eye opener from a very sheltered and controlled homelife. I also came to appreciate it even more when I found, after meeting people all over and even in graduate school for education, that we actually had an excellent education in Island Trees. I often think of going back to see it all, but hear that the area has changed and I may be saddened and disappointed. I would love to get to a reunion-- I think I have missed some due to religious reasons; wish it could be worked out on a doable schedule. I think I am somewhat the same as I was in highschool- I seek to do good each day--acts of kindness not neccessarily random-- and remain committed to path and tradition of my ancestors.
