Anne's Story
Life
We moved to Mississippi (the Hospitality State) in 1973. My husband (N.J. native) took a job teaching history at a college in Jackson. We came for a year or two - now 31 years later, we're still here. It was and is a fine place to raise a family. We have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy, 1 grandson and 1 granddaughter.
I am a special ed. teacher for 5 and 6 year olds.
We love to travel - have been all over U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe,
Carribbean - mostly in the summer to escape MS HEAT! (and we have summers off) I've held on to my NY accent but admit I say y'all.
My heart will always be in NY.
Would love to hear from old (rather, former) classmates.
UPDATE ~ June 2008
I retired from teaching Jan.'07. My husband had a Fulbright scholarship and we went to New Zeala...Expand for more
nd for 4 months. We also visited Australia, Tazmania and Papua New Guinea. We loved NZ and if we could have all our kids there, we would have stayed.
We have another grandchild. Ian Charles was born Nov.8, 2006 in Maryland.
I love retirement ~ I get to spend time with the grandchildren in Maryland. I helped build a Habitat House for a former assistant of mine last fall ~ it was a fabulous experience. I have been busy trying to declutter our home and just getting to do things on my own time.
My husband and family gave me a surprise 60th b'day Oct. '06 and Jim Ryan and his wife, Jeanne, came down to Maryland to join us. It was the biggest surprise I ever had. Enjoyed friends and family from all over the U.S.
