Anne's Story
I grew up on Hope Street in Springdale in the house behind Melfi's Bar & Rest.
My parents Mildred Melfi Saunders
(Millie) and Arthur (Ossie) ran Melfi's from approx 1950-95. I remember many of the Melfi's regulars. The bar was formerly Melfi's grocery store in the 1900s run by my maternal grandparents.
I went to Springdale Sch, Dolan JH & SHS. Then CW Post College, transferred to SUNY New Paltz, 2 yrs off before finishing undergrad. Lived at home working as a school bus driver. Can't remember name of the bus company located on Viaduct Road in Glenbrook. Good times those years. I played in a small acoustic band at that time, we played a couple times at the Blue Note Cafe in Glenbrook.

n Bethlehem PA as Sr Research Microbiologist, onto Cornell Med Ctr in NYC, NY Blood Center, back to Cornell. I lived in NYC for 16 yrs working in the AIDS & related fields as a research specialist. Went for my doctorate at Hunter, started a tiny consulting biz, ImmunoTechnica to pay for school.
Went ABD, all but final dissertation in the early 90's when an opportunity in the music biz, my life long obsession came along again. Maybe will get that PhD someday. Am currently co-owner of the FALCON RIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL, a 4 day music fest held in Hillsdale NY the past 21 years. I am the Artistic & Publicity director for the fest among other things. Also do some artist management, booking, producing, not much performing any longer. Currently reside in Sharon CT in a 200 y.o. farm house near the Amenia NY border.
