Anne's Story

So looking forward to our class reunion, it seems impossible to think its been 50 years until I think back to the milestones of life, having 4 children, 6 grandchildren and now our first great grandson born this past February. Good health and bad health, losses and gains, and joys and sadness. It all adds up to life and every day I rise with thanksgiving for all the trials knowing for me it has made me a stronger person who values family, friends and God more each day. If you can't make it on July 23, 2016 know that you will be in our thoughts and very much missed. High school can be hard for some and for those who left it as an unhappy experience, I want to say for myself I am sorry. Age brings wisdom and compassion. Time cannot heal old wounds but it hopefully will make them hurt a bit less. If you have never been to a reunion, give this one a try. We will be so happy to see you! I have been married to Tony for 48 years. I retired from 18 years as a paralegal with the Oregon Dept of Justice in 2010 and then returned to work for 2 years with ODOT in the HR department. I continue to work part time for ODOT as a conference weaver for the annual Statewide Divers...Expand for more
ity Conference which I am able to do from home. I also fill the rest of my time with volunteer work as the Public Relations Team Lead for Newberg FI'SH Emergency Service and Habitat Restore in Newberg. I am honored to be on the Newberg Habitat Board of Directors. Tony and I have 4 children, Jennifer, Jefferson, Andrew and Ryan. We have been fortunate to travel several times to Europe, I love travel and my favorite country was Italy but after spending 2 weeks in Spain in 2014, it has drawn me in and I must say I love it. I plan on walking the Camino de Santiago in September 2016 with my son Ryan. Unfortunately due to his health, Tony is unable to handle overseas travel now. I still have some bucket list wishes and hope to be able to see a few more countries before I stow the passport away. Since retirement, Tony and I are focused on simple living and are looking forward to downsizing to a smaller home this summer. I am also part of the Jesuit Volunteer Encorp group and try to live the Jesuit teachings of community, spirituality and social and economic justice along with simple living. Simply put finding "God in Everything" Can't wait to see everyone in July.
