Patrick's Story
Life
I'm guessing that no one I knew in high school would ever think that they would see a bio of me on a website...especially, a HIGH SCHOOL website...a place I couldn't wait to get out of...but, I found as I got older, I really wish I could go back sometimes...actually, a LOT of times...adulthood is so much more difficult than student-hood...made up word, but what the heck. Most people that knew me would have probably guessed 2 career paths for me...either one concerning music, or one with a journalistic bend. WRONG! I even surprised myself! I went to broadcast school pretty quickly out of high school, but I was too immature to really handle what I needed to do to even get started in the industry. So, money down the drain. Went into the military...more time down the drain, for reasons that doctors and military people can only explain. Got married...what a mess. Loved her at first, but then came the kid (whom I love to death, by the way, and it's the only decent, perfect thing I did in over 15 years of "marriage"), and things changed. You don't need to hear the soap opera, so I'll spare you. Where did I end up working? Well, let's see...I gave propellant manufactoring a try...almost 3 years trying to blow myself up at TRW out in Queen Creek...an accident waiting to happen. Great money, lots of overtime, no family life. And, of course, the thrilling risk of the whole thing blowing to smithereens on a daily basis. Just what I needed...after that, I had some really bad "s**t" going on with my "health." For those of you who knew me WELL, you can probably guess what I'm talking about. Anyway, past all that stuff, I came upon a career that would, and probably WILL blow you away - I became involved in PHARMACY! Yeah!! I could sell drugs for a living, LEGALLY!!! I have been a pharmacy technician for almost 11 years now...amazing how sniffing residue out of empty bottles sustains ...Expand for more
me...!!! No, I really like it, and it is always changing; and since I hate redundancy, this is a good field for me; dilligence, paying attention to what you do 28 out of 8 hours a day; good choice. As far as crap that I presented in school...well...my music tastes have "expanded" a bit...I still love my metal (and still love going to concerts...the kid has to survive, even though he has a harder time keeping up with the fans in the front!), but most of the stuff I have in my collection now is probably mostly unknown to most civilized people in the free world. Let's just say that if I was this diverse in high school, I would have spent all my money on music, rather than taking Kathleen Murphy out, or buying toxic chemicals to injest, or other equally pleasurable things...concert tickets, shirts, cigarettes, gas, shitty greasy fast food...nothing that today's teenager/high school student has ANY interest in at ALL, right?? Yeah...my daughter's favorite band is Green Day...any free tickets out there? She also likes a lot of the newer punk bands (Weezer...can you believe it? A band full of geeks...)...she's so cool, but she's so much like me that I really can't stand it...I'm trying to teach her guitar; yeah, I still play. And my keyboard skills are still intact. As a matter of fact, I also dj occasions...I have a wedding coming up early next month...and no, you're not invited...!!! Anyhow, if anyone out there remembers me, and particularly the ones I was the most close to, please get back with me. It would be interesting to see what my former "colleagues in arms" are doing...and for those who are on here a lot (??), you know who you are. And one more thing...those fences around the parking lot are..."interesting..." - not sure if I like them or not...if I was a student, I would be livid...
