I learened how to be a solder and what it ment to be in the US Coast Guard. I graduated boot camp in December of 1999. I recived my first set of orders ot be stationed on the USCGC Mellon Whec 717 which was a 375 foot class cutter stationed in Seattle, WA. I spent 3 1/2 years on board this ship. In thee three ahalf years I advanced three times and traveled to the far reaches of Alaska and as far south as South America to Ecquador. I rensfered to Westprot, WA in 2003. Where I was on board a small boat station. This small boat station had two 47' Moater life boats, a 52' Moater Life boat, and a 23' Infaltabel speed boat. I learned how to drive all of these vessels. This area of the US is concederd one of the deadlest area for boat to roll over in the surf. My station was the next one up from what is called Cape Disapointment. The training center for surfmen. I trained for two years untill I could not longer do my job due to illnes. I was discharged from the armed survices in 2005 on honrable as a medical relase. I am now concederd retired form the US Coast Guard. The time I spent in the millitary changed my life and opened my eyes. I would not change it for the world.
