Annette's Story
Funloving! Caring, exciting, loving, sweet, crazy, interesting, mysterious....
I always wanted to be a "still don't know" when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was an OK with them idea. As it turns out, they were and I was right!.
Oh, gosh. I could NEVER give that all away! Second best would have to be all the trips we made to Latello's or some Shamrock bar on broadway on our "free time" for a few...or maybe more. THEN go back to class. Hahaha. Great times!! OR......having liquor and beer in my school locker...hmmm.....let's see, what else!?
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have plenty of patience, control, and nerves of steel to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
Oh gosh! I have so very many heros. My parents, my grandparents, my brothers, my best friend Kathy, my boys and last but certainly no least, my late husband Greg. He taught me so much about appreciating the mundane. HE was grateful and thankful for every rain drop, every flower, every rainbow. I now see the world through his eyes.
Started out in Tonawanda. Moved to Depew on Marrano Drive when I was eight. Went to Sts. Peter & Paul for grade school, then on to St. Mary's High. My parents built a home on Forestview in Depew my freshman year. Met my husband in 1979 while he was still attending Notre Dame. Dated for nine years then marries in 1988. Had a great apartment in Williamsville, then bought first house in West Seneca. Purchased twelve acres outside the village of East Aurora and build a wonderful home! Have been here for over 15 years. I now live there with my oldest son, Jesse and little bro Jude. Jesse just started his Freshman year at Notre Dame. Jude is 3-1/2 and is a delightful handful!
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is "too many to list", because I have had so very many great friends throughout the years.
Don't get to see too much "grownup" TV at the present. Not with a 3 year old! Love "The Office" I have three wonderful mutts, so I guess you could say that that is an obsession!?
I would have to say that my biggest surprise was the death of my husband, Greg, last year. Out of the blue. I would need several pages, at least, to give you an idea of just what a wonderful (understatement) man he was!
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel "been there" and add on a "done that". My dream home would be "right where I am".
I don't really know what I have learned from my boys, per say. I have had to learn patience, which I think I have a lo more in my later years. I have a blast with my kids but, don't really want to say that I learned that from them. I have always had so much fun in my life and continue to do so...maybe in a different way sometimes?! Have always known what true love is...just expanded my circle with them!
Cannot really think of one teacher that impacted my life so much that I have been longing to see them. Didn't really see them all too much at school anyway! Hahaha
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity of choice, then spend the rest on family , friends and my sons.
Would just love to stand in the street and give money away. Want to be a PHILANTHROPIST!! Always has been a drea...Expand for more
m of mine.
No, no and no.
To be truly, truly happy. (I am truly happy now anyway) I would want to be right here, right now, doing anything with my husband!
My current age is 50 and loving it!. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead...haha.... I was so completely clueless.
Always have worked hard. Why would you not want to? I have no career aspirations. I AM doing what I love and loving my freedom.
I would guess that my first crush would have been in Kindergarten. I remember him walking me home from school then accidently closing my fingers in my gate. That was it for him! Another HUGE crush I had was for this long haired, gorgeous dude. Used to go to the beach with our family when we were all VERY little. My crush on him (Ricky and yes, I remember his last name too) probably lasted from the time I was about 10 or so and went on for years and years. I usually only saw him once a year from that point on. Only at my cousin Monica's birthday party on August 2. Like it was yesterday. I can feel my heart pounding!
My best friend would tell you I'm incredible, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as crazy? IDK!?.
10 or 20 years? Hell, try about 35 years ago. Oh, gosh yes! I love my bell bottom jeans, usually have peace signs on me somewhere. Love stuff with fringe like from the 70's. I wear Aerosmith, Steve Miller, Zeppelin...shirts and more! Just wore hot pink platforms the other night!!
I share my home with my sons, which I find incredibly exciting.
The only trophy I can ever remember receiving was for Arts and Crafts at the Lincoln Playground. Loved my ashtrays, belts and boondoggle!
If I had a "DO OVER" I probably would not do anything different. Maybe never had smoked. I don't smoke now.
In 10 years, I hope to be gorgeous and still fun loving. I'm going to get there by taking good care of myself and believing!.
Oh, gosh. My oldest, best friend!? It would take too long! It is Kathy Neurohr Bonafede O'Donnell. We talk or see each other usually EVERY DAY. She remembers seeing me when I went to St. James Grade School with Danny Allen, Tina Doborowski, Mary Nolder...We were talking outside the windows. She said that she thought to herself that she had never seen anyone so beautiful. Did not know that at the time. Then....the next year, when she was a freshman and I a sophmore, we hooked up and the rest is history! Don't know what I would do without her...honestly!!
I don't know if anything would surprise anyone at a reunion. I think I pretty much look and act the same. Maybe a little nicer!!
My first job was at Casillo's Pizza, where I got paid $40 a week to make great food. What I remember most about it is all the friends who worked there with me! What a riot! Still go to see Dennis occasionally.
Oh, gosh, way too many childhood memories. Most of all, I always remember being loved unconditionally...and thta would have had to be the case back then...haha. Probably the smell, no, not smell, aroma at Grandma Algera's house on Massachuttes on the West Side. There was ALWAYS something incredibly Italian being cooked. I can still smell it.
Wow! That was quite the undertaking!!
