Annette's Story
Loving Life
I have been living in the South for a lot of years now. I have two beautiful grown children a daughter and a son. We live about 30 miles from the Gulf Coast and were hit really hard in 2005 by Hurricane Rita, 90% of the parish that we live in was destroyed by the hurricane. This was the first time in 50 years that the Cameron Parish area took a direct hit from a hurricane and I sure don't want to see another one anytime soon.
We own a home and land down here and have 3 horses, 3 dogs, and 6 cats. Oh yell I'm totally a country girl and a beach bum. I love going to the beach and just listening to the waves coming in and watching the Dolphins swimming in the water. Walking along the beach is about the most relaxing thing you can do. Another year has went by and we were blessed with a safe Hurricane season, we, like many others in the area are still working to getting back to normal, but I am not sure there will ever be a normal down here again.
September 2007.... Well now I went to sleep the other night and no Hurricanes were out in the Gulf, just a little storm, nothing to worry about and woke up to a full blown Hurricane.. Very thankful that we just got a lottt of rain and some minor wind. I think we need to update the weather system!!HA!
September 2008....You quessed it, we were Hit by Hurricane Ike... We stayed this time and you talk about some major wind blowing...Not Fun!
2010 I have fallen behind...I have two beautiful Granddaughters one who is 3 and one that is 2 months..Such beautiful little Angels...
