Annette's Story
My OH my, where in the world did 48 years go? I'm the same age I was the last time any of us spoke or saw each other, but my drivers license says I'm going on 66. Amazing!!! Actually, I love being 65. I like and enjoy who I am and who I've become.
Well, I was married for 28 wonderful years. I have two beautiful daughters and 4 handsome grandsons, and one son in law who I love as if he was my own son. I'm a happy woman!
When I graduated in 1965, I headed to San Francisco and was the typical hippy girl, flowers in my hair and lots of pot and acid. I thank God that the acid didn't mess me up! LOL When I had my fill of hippydom, I went to work in the high country above Yosemite Nat'l Park at a place called Tioga Pass Resort... Did a lot of hiking and backpacking and fell in love with nature and all of God's ponderous creations! When the season closed, I went to work in Yosemite valley. I fell in love and married my boss. He went in the army and I went to college for awhile and majored in child psychology. While he was in the army, we lived in Germany for almost 4 years... what a great time that was.
Upon exiting the army, we moved back to Yosemite where we both worked for the Nat'l Park Service. Being the br...Expand for more
ight, good looking man that he was, he moved up in the park system rather quickly, which set us off on a lifestyle like no other. We got to live in a number of National Parks across the nation. When the kids came along, we decided that I would be a stay at home mom, which I loved. I had numerous home business's, while getting to stay home with my kids! What a treat to be able to raise our daughters in such splendidly beautiful places.
My X went through a midlife crisis thingie shortly after he took a job in the Washington DC office working with the "who's who" in the Park Service. A fun opportunity that took us to every state but 2... North Dakota and Alaska. (Maybe someday I'll get to Alaska, but North Dakota? No thanks! LOL) My X decided that he didn't want to be married anymore... Tore me up inside and out for several years... but that was 16 years ago. No pain now... In fact, I'm loving life, I enjoy dating and hope to fall in love again someday...... maybe. LOL
So, in a nutshell, that's it. Sooooooo much more though. I've lived one very exciting, unadventurous life. Everyone who knows me well says I ought to write a book about myself. Maybe, someday when I get old. Hmmmmmmm, if that ever happens... ;-)
