Anthony's Story
Since graduation I have lived in eastern Washington and North Idaho for the past 30 years. Uncle Sam sent me to San Antonio Texas for 6 weeks and on to Fairchild AFB in eastern Wa. While on active duty I learned my heavy equipment operation trade. I injured my back while working during an alert. After being discharged I worked as a long haul trucker for 5 years. In 1990 I started my career with the State of Idaho Division of Highways. At first I worked as a temporary hire while I tested for a certified position. During the winter of 92-93 I interviewed and was then hired in Spirit Lake Id. I worked there until January 02 when I fell off a loader in the shop and shattered my right tibia and knee cap. I have been on diability retirement ever since. In March of 08 I suffered a blocked artery heart attack and was hospitalized for 3 days. hrough. I am a big nascar fan. I try to catch all the races. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is my favorite driver. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10 million of it to NASCAR charities, then spend the rest on a mountain retreat, muscle cars and toys for the family.
Amongst all that living I have been married three times and have had 2 children. A son who is now almost 16 years old and a daughter who is 12 years old. As they are with my second wife I don't have any contact with them. Long story there. I have been fortunate and I count my blessings every day. My homestead of 6 acres of trees keeps me and my wife pretty busy. With all of our critters there is never a dull moment around here. I can say one thing through it all we built it on our own. It also is hell getting old. I never thought things would have turned out the way they did. I fully expected to work until I was 58, but things did not work out that way.
