Life I was never really popular in High School. I was kinda quiet and shy. I wasn't good enough to play sports. At one point I quit school to go to work. With the help of a few of my teachers, I was able to return to school, make up all my work and graduate with my class. For someone who spent most of his time in the Dean's office for fighting in school and ditching class, I never thought a law enforcement career would be in any part of my future. My English Teacher Ms. Jones would always say that a person like me would make a good cop. I thought she was crazy. Now after 40 years she still reminds me of her prediction, (Ha Ha). I went into the Marine Corps after high school and was trained as a military police officer. Then I went to work for the criminal investigations department as a marijuana dog handler. In 1972 I was transferred to the Marine Barracks, Adak, Alaska. I stayed on Adak as a Military Police Officer until I was honorably discharged in 1973.
