Anthony's Story

I'd be surprised if you remembered me because most would not since I was quiet and not the popular type. There were a few that I hung out with in school, at school... not really friends, just classmates. I was pretty much a loner, so I would also be surprised if anyone called me a friend. Sad, huh? Not really, cuz that's just the way it was and the way I am. Don't get me wrong, I did have some friends and a couple I still have today. Greg Vanard and Edwin Canizales are two of my friends to this day and I am grateful to have such great people in my life. Over the next few years after high school I just worked full time and lived with several people, including Greg and Edwin at times. I was just "partying" ( in the most extreme sense of the word) and working full time. Even in my "partying" times I became a manager. I was usually the responsible/sensible "partyer" (is that even a word?) if that makes any sense. Kind-of hard to believe if you knew me in high school since I was pretty much a yuppie dork... perfect front right? ;-) I left that job and went to another where I worked for 7 years in manufacturing and ended up a plant manager. During that employment is when I told myself: "It's now or never" and that's when I stopped "partying". I went to college full time for computer network technology and kept working full time. I got my associate degree...whew, not easy full time and after being out of school for 6 years... and I left the manufacturing job to work in the computer technology industry. I worked in the computer industry and started my own business in computer maintenance, upgrade, and repair. California tech industry was flooded at that time and I could not keep up with costs or competition. I was going back and forth to Nevada for personal vacations and scouting for business opportunity to see if I could make a change for the better. During all of this I always kept/held a job, never got fired, and most of the time had two jobs at a time regardless of my situation or past. I've been in many different fields: management, manufacturing, construction, and computer... so I am extremely handy and might be considered a "Ja...Expand for more
ck of all trades". Ironically through all of this, I never had much money and no savings even with multiple jobs. One might be able to guess this from my early "partying" and late college plan. But I always got my bills paid, bought and paid-off my own car without a cosigner and with my own money, and started college with my own money and without cosigner as well. In my trips to Nevada I met a beautiful, smart, witty, and fun person. My trips to Nevada began to increase and our relationship grew even though we were 320 miles apart. After careful consideration I decided to make a change in my life. I quit my well paying job/business and moved to Nevada with very little money and no possessions. I left it all behind! I had no place to live and no job in a state/place I knew very little about. In certain fields Nevada is very seasonal, compared to California, and I could not find a job in the computer industry or manufacturing. Well, I found the jobs but they simply were just not hiring. I started all over again and was now closer to continue and grow my relationship. It worked! I found a room for rent, finally got a job, and my relationship exploded to new heights. We eventually got married and got a place together. We have a great son with us and are looking forward to having our first child together (hopefully a girl since we both each have a son). We are, obviously, both working and have huge dreams that we are making goals to soon become realities. In addition to my job, I started into another business opportunity in financial services. Everyone needs financial services no matter what that might be. My business will only grow since we are in it for the well-being of families by educating families on how money works, helping them get out of debt, and offering a means to achieve financial independence. We are so happy together and I thank the Lord that I had the strength and motivation to change my life. You wanted the story and I gave you a novel. A novel in the History of the life of Anthony Stephenson ( also known as Steeplechaser, Whiteboy, Whiteboychef, Chef, Cheffen, T, Tony, Tone, Tone Capone, Antny, and Antones).
