Anthony's Story
Life
Since leaving high school, I got married in 1986, and subsequently separated and divorced in 1989 and 1991, respectively. I've been a single father since my separation to a beautiful 17 year old daughter. I have been a firefighter since June '87 and can honestly say that the career that I have chosen is definitely the one that I belong in. Though I have not remarried I, too am the father of a soon to be 9 year old son. I have made some mistakes in my life, and though having both of my children out of wedlock,( though I eventually wed my daughters mother ) being a father is my number one accomplishment. It is more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
Workplace

t 2 years while going to College at ASU. In May, 1992, I moved to Memphis, TN. where I have continued my career. Though I have been a Firefighter now for almost 16 years, the most important job that I have now is being a single father to my 17 year old daughter. That is my most rewarding accomplishment, watching her grow and mature for the last 14 years, and knowing that the beautiful lady that she is and the woman that she is becoming, is the best job that I have ever had. I, too, have an almost 9 year old son as the result of another relationship. Though he does not live with me, I am as equally as proud of him as I am my daughter. Being a Dad or as my daughter affectionately calls me, Father, has got to be he best thing that I have yet accomplished. Being a single parent, gives me a profound appreciation of what our women have been doing for years.
