April's Story
Life
I am loving life in the beautiful mountains of southern Vermont. I am working for the Vermont Wilderness School and Deep Wilds, empowering youth through nature awareness and sense of place. I am now in the middle of 6 weeks of summer camp in the amazing, wild woods of Rockingham, Vermont- living and learning from the land while leading kids through wilderness solos and other "rites of passage" that really foster the development of strong, confident, conscious, and compassionate kids.

ptember 2005, I will be heading to in Athol, Massachusetts to teach at the Farm School, a working, non-profit educational farm with dairy and beef cows, chickens, sheep, vegetables, maple syrup, and sustainable forestry. Kids come for a few days and nights and live the life of the farm and surrounding wilderness, taking part in all that's real. I hope to integrate the nature awareness mentoring skills I have develping while working at the Vermont Wilderness School, as they are powerful teaching tools.
