Argentina's Story
Life
After my grandmother passed away in March 1986, I moved to Austin to live with my Uncle Martin& his new wife Maria Camarrillo. (Maria & Martin are no longer married.)
My Senior year was spent working part-time at Solo Serve & going to school at David Crockett High School. My graduating class had about as many students in all of APHS so it was a little tough adjusting. Since I was always a loner, I really did not attempt to make many friends. I spent most of the year hanging out with the UT College girls who worked at Solo Serve. It was a good thing for me because it made going to UT a lot easier for me. I worked three part-time jobs to pay for school so it was important to me that I leave that place with a degree. I graduated in May 1992 with a BS in Management. (Later, I would discover that this was a useless major.)
I met my spouse at the end of my freshman year in college at a party. He was in the Airforce, stationed at Bergstrom Airforce Base. We got engaged after a year & stayed engaged for three years & then got married in August 1991. When he got out of the Airforce he got hired with Delta Airlines in Atlanta GA, which is how I ended up in GA. We were married for seven years, ...Expand for more
& I was almost done with my MBA when we decided to have children. I had Zoe Martina Gherman in April 1998. She'll be an only child because neither one of us has any family around here & it is just too difficult trying to raise children without a network. As you can see I did not change my name. It would have been an act of God to try to get it changed in college & I never saw any point to it.
My first job out of college was at SouthTrust Bank. I was trying to establish residency so I could start on my MBA. While working on my MBA, I made friends with people who worked at The Coca-Cola Company. Through these connections I was able to get a job at Coke in July 1996. I have been here ever since. I absolutely love it.
I completed an MBA in Accounting from Kennesaw State University in December 1998.
Because of Dave's travel benefits we are able to do a lot of traveling. I visit Austin about three or four times a year to see my uncle Martin & his wife Debbie & their children, Lauren & Olivia I rarely make it to South Texas.
If you are ever in Atlanta/Marietta, feel free to look me up. It is amazing how the real world does not care about your successes/failures in High School;-)neither do I.
