Arleen's Story
Life
I'm a born-again Christian and live in the Inland Empire. The wonderful guy I married right after high school died of Leukemia when he was 28 (I was 26). I re-married (big mistake), Divorced and was left to raise my, three little ones alone. I had to quit school (Cal State L.A.) and go to work full-time; I've been with SCE 20 yrs.
I have 2 sons, one is a Developmental Interventionist (with a degree in psychology from Cal State L.A.). He's newly married (February on a beach in Jamaica), no children, and owns a home in Upland. My youngest son is a Sophomore at Riverside City College, plays baseball, and will be transferring next year to USC; and I have one daughter who's married, a certified pre-school teacher working on a credential,and has...Expand for more
2 boys and 1 girl (guess that means I'm a Grammy). My son-in-law is terrific, like one of my own. Not bad for a single mom who was left with no life insurance. Goes to show you God is good, and you can do whatever you want if you really want to.
Life is good, I own my home; drive a Honda CR-V, and I'm pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Cal State San Bernardino. My ultimate goal is a PsyD (Doctorate in psychology) haven't decided where yet, but it would be nice to go to USC like I'd dreamed of doing in high school.
I miss the gang at East L.A. and Cal State L.A. that I sang with...Lupe Munoz found me on facebook, and hopefully I'll get to meet up with some of you in the near future...
This wasn't just a story...more like a book!! LOL!
