Arne's Story
Life
After NTW, returned to Norway for military service, 3 years at Oslo U (history, sociology), one semester each in Germany and France (development studies), before MA in International Relations and PhD in economics, both at Yale. Spent three years as a visiting professor at U of Sao Paulo/Brazil, before 5 yrs with UN Development Program in Mozambique and Uganda, 4 yrs with Norway's development agency in Mozambique and four years with World Bank in Zimbabwe. In 1996, returned to Norway, where have been working as a consultant.

the same time (still obligatory here in Norway), while our daughter is in her second year of university studies in the UK - international politics and diplomacy.
I continue working on development issues through a small Norwegian firm Scanteam (though of our 14 partners, four are foreigners - Brazil, Canada, Guatemala, Switzerland), and of the Norwegians, four are married to foreigners (India, England, Russia, Ecuador). It's a fantastic gang, work is interesting though at times demanding with lots of travel. I have worked in about 30 countries over the last 7-8 years, right now (end 2007) with tasks in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Mozambique, and Central Europe (more about what I do is on our web-site at scanteam.no).
The future? Heaven knows - but would be fun to hear from old NTW-ers, if anybody read this far....
Best,
Arne
