Art's Story

I am so very lucky. Have a wonderful family, retired one month before Covid hit and having lots of fun. Been married to a wonderful wife, Ronnie, for over 57 years (met and married in College - took five years to graduate), have two wonderful grown daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and two terrific granddaughters all whom live near me (10 and 15 minutes away). We have lived in same Potomac home for 40 years (just put on an addition). Ronnie is very involved in Charity and Service Organization volunteer activities - giving back to the community and the world. Ronnie and I travel frequently. We have traveled all over Europe, China and the Caribbean. We have also taken numerous cruises and love large ships with lots of activities. I belong to two wine groups and love old Bordeaux. We love fine dining and have enjoyed some of the best restaurants in the world including a 3 Star Michelin Restaurant in Paris. DC is a great restaurant town and we dine in town often. Have a great professional career. I am the President and CEO of Potomac Forum, Ltd., a 40 year old corporation that produces ...Expand for more
seminars and conferences for industry and government executives. I also had a great government career including serving as the Chief Information Officer for three government agencies. After college I served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and had three assignments all in Washington D.C. (I was lucky). Ronnie and I spent a lot of time at the Bolling Air Force Base Officers Club during my Air Force days. Additionally, I currently serve on several Association and Corporate Boards. After High Point, I received my BS from the University of Maryland and my MS from American University. I look back fondly at my High Point days and remember Mr Knorr for Chemistry, Ms West for English and Mrs Monk for three years of German (have not used the language very much but can order beer in German). I played drums in the HP band for one year and was Manager of the HP Golf Team). High Point provided me with a very good high school foundation for college which has served me well during my career. I was excited about seeing folks at our 60th High Point Reunion. Can't believe it has been 60 years!!!
