More about Art:"After several family members and friends encouraged me to get on Facebook I’m finally here. I won’t bore you with too much detail, except to fill in the blanks. I have been married for 30+ years to Brenda (Sloan) a gal from Weatherford, TX. We met at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth while we were both working on counseling degrees. We were married in 1981 and have 3 grown children but are not yet grandparents. Our kids are two years apart. Amy our oldest will be receiving her Masters in Library Science from Denver University this summer. Allison our middle-child, who shows all the independent characteristics of a middle child got her business degree from Colorado State University in 2010 and currently tours the country with 2 or 3 (I can’t keep-up) Rock-and-Roll bands as their merchandizing manager. Tim our youngest is 23 and doesn’t get in a hurry about too many things. He is a college sophomore currently “enjoying-the-life” in Colorado – climbing, biking and snowboarding. All our kids were born in Fort Worth, Texas. But Texas to them is like the land of Ur was for Abraham, a land far away to the East where the family c...Expand for more

My Serious Side – where I tend to reside or believe that I should –
As all of you can verify with your own lives, it is the providence of God that shapes and directs our paths. As I meander down memory lane, that keeps extending as the years go by, I see detailed LIFE-MOMENTS with each of you, like a montage of photographs and a collection of favorite short-films where each of you feature prominently. I have a good God who continues to bless me with abundant joy and fabulous friends and family with whom to share life and memories. In the counseling office I have seen many people who can only hold-on-to negative life-choking memories and lack the aptitude to embrace or create good or happy moments to remember. When we find ourselves short in faith, despairingly hopeless and/or feeling ugly and loveless, happy memories are the fuel that restore our faith, replenish our hope and open us to fulfilling moments where love can be found – go make some happy moments to remember.
My bizarre side – where I run to when I kick myself out of the house –
Life is not as serious as I tend to make it and the following quotes have let me back in the house:
• A snake is a snake whether you call it “snake” or “Mr. snake”
• When I die, I want to go peacefully and with a smile on my face, not kicking and screaming like the people in the back seat of his car as he drove it off the cliff
• Everything’s going to be alright in the end…so if it’s not alright – it’s not the end
• Like Sheldon of “The Big-Bang Theory” – I’m not crazy my mother had me tested
• The meaning of life is that life has meaning – go and get you some!
