Arthur's Story
I retired from the Navy, after 20 years, on Aug 31, 1990, and moved to the Lee's Summit area. My wife Karen and I have 3 grown children, Stacey, Stefanie, and Arthur III, and 2 granddaughters Samantha and Lexie. Since retiring I have sold insurance for 2 companies, worked a number of temporary jobs, and 6 years at Gateway Computers.
My wife, Karen, is an IT specialist working for a subsidiary of Children's Mercy Hospital. She also worked for Gateway Computers for approximately 9 years. She quilts, sews, and does numerous different types of crafts.

nce being disabled from cancer in 2004, I spend my time reading, making candles, and writing articles at Helium.com. Since joining Helium about 1 1/2 years ago, I've had the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong goal. And I would encourage anyone who has a desire to write to join the community. Helium gives you the opportunity to write on thousands of different topics and to join a community of writers willing to help each other improve their skills.
Basically, I'm now a house husband. Life has been pretty good to me since graduating high school in 1968!
