Arthur (Jack)'s Story
Life
What can you say about a life in such a small space. I have been blessed in so many ways during my life that it is difficult to know where to begin. I have been married to three amazing women from totally dissimilar cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. I have two incredibly talented sons who continually make me proud with their varied accomplishments and steadfast principles. They have both been successful in their chosen professions and have never brought me a moments concern. Well........maybe a little.
I have worked in the Printing Industry in Texas for 53 years and spent the last two years in San Antonio as the President and CEO of the Northwest San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and at Thomas Printworks as a Business Development Executive. Because of many invaluable and treasured relationships I have been fairly successful in building a business that will hopefully provide me a comfortable retirement.
I spent 14 years between marriages enjoying a prolific bachelorhood and made the company of some beautiful young ladies and at the same time had the opportunity to travel the world and see places that I never dreamed I would have the opportunity to see.
I have met many famous people and had the opportunity to share my experiences with...Expand for more
them and learn from them that being well known has more than a few draw backs. I have had the opportunity to reconnect with many of the friends that I went to school with, including my first wife Cindy, through this site and especially with my very first love, Betty Penaloza. We continue to share a closeness that can only be described as fulfilling in many ways.
I have learned to grow through Toastmasters while improving my communication and leadership skills and I have achieved more than I ever dreamed possible in advancing to become an Area Governor and Division Governor. I recently competed in the Division H International Speech Contest and found favor in the eyes of the Judges by being named Champion. Every day proves to be a challenge and yet an inspiration as I learn new things and meet new friends and I have no idea where I am headed but I certainly feel that I will be blessed in some way.
I gave the Eulogy at my Father's funeral a few years ago and it was the most difficult thing I have ever done. Time heals and I can only hope that will be the case in the coming years. Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.
Mine has been an incredible adventure and I can't wait to experience what comes next.
