Atonia's Story

I was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and lived in California the first four years of my life. My family and I move back to Pine Bluff, Arkansas when I turned five years old. Then we moved to San Franscico, California for a while and Los Angeles for about 8 months before we move back to Arkansas. That's were I finished school and graduated from the best high school around. I married my high school sweetheart Andrew "Slim" Rodgers. We have three boys Andrew II(19), Darius (17) and Brendan (12). Andrew and I have been married for almost 19years, June 2, 2008 in our anniversary. Right now i am finishing up my degree of Arts in Business. I work part time at River Region as a ER Registrar, and my husband is a Firefighter/EMT for the Vicksburg Fire Department. Andrew II graduated May 22, 2008, and will start college in the fall. I always wanted to be a computer engineer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. I like to relax with a good book, swimming, walking, playing volley ball, bowling, and going to the movies is what I enjoy the most. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have plenty of money, vacation package, and a good cell phone to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The person that inspired me the most is my mother. I came from a single parent home, and she gave us everything a parent could give a child with limited means. She was smart and a hard worker. She never gave up, even when things didn't go the way as planned. She is my strength and I truly love my mom for giving us the love we needed and the back hands when we got out of line. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is all of my classmates and my teachers, because Pine Bluff High is where we matured, grew, and laughed. It was a place of comfort and I really miss everyone. I enjoy watching the Flavor of Love Reality show and America's Top Model. I have learned to perservere during the good and bad times. I love Keeping the communication open with my spouse and kids. I like having family time, because it gives me ...Expand for more
the quality time I need to listen, and talk with my family about the issues they are dealing with at school or at work. We gives one another strength to go futher to persue or goals in life. I would be truly happy in Paris with my husband on a 7 day honeymoon. My first crush will be nameless. He was very sweet and a total gentleman. Most of all he was a true friend. I I heard he moved to California. My best friend would tell you I'm very aggressive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as mean or stuck up. I like keeping up with the latest trends, but not looking like I should be on teen magazine. LOL My oldest son have 2 trophies a plaque, and 6 medals in band, 1 trophy and 3 medals in powerlifting. Andrew played football, band and powerlifting for 4 years. I am looking forward to see what my second oldest son Darius is going to do in football and track. The youngest is also playing football this fall. Well, there goes my free time. LOL Just kidding I love watching them play sports. I would have started college earlier, and travel more with my family. Cheri Smith is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We met at Broadmoor Elem. School. We also stayed in St. Johns Apartments for a little while. That was when it was drug free and the people was friendlier. We still keep in touch. Donna R., Jennifer, and Sonya Coleman, Toni L. Robinson, etc. I don't want to leave anybody out, but you know who you are I like all of my friends from PBHS. They were a great inspiration to me. PBHS class of 1988 will always be in my heart. My first job was at Pizza Hut during my twelveth grade year, where I got paid $2.10 hr to greet, sit, take orders, wash dishes, collect money, ring up carry out orders and keep the salad bar stocked. What I remember most about it is I loved being there and it taught me to work hard. The love, dedication, and encouragement my family showed me throughout the years has helped me to become the person I am today. The love my friends has shown me during school is irreplaceable. Thanks guys for being my support. GO! ZEBRAS!
